Approximately 9,000 people participated in the 31st Annual Rodeo Run, presented by ConocoPhillips on Feb. 24. Over its history, the event has contributed more than $5 million to support the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s community programs.
ConocoPhillips Lower 48 President Don Hrap joined Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Rodeo Chairman Jim Winne and Rodeo President Joel Cowley on the grandstand to officially start the wheelchair race, 10K race and 5K fun run/walk. Mayor Turner thanked ConocoPhillips for being a leading corporate citizen in the community and presented Hrap with a proclamation designating Feb. 24 as “31st Annual Rodeo Run presented by ConocoPhillips Day.”
This year, a total of 360 ConocoPhillips employees participated as runners or volunteers. ConocoPhillips Technical App & Portfolio Consultant Pilar Whitworth took first place overall among females in the highly competitive 10K race. Financial Analysis & Report Supervisor Colin Wolfe led the company’s male runners in the 10K race. Drilling Engineer Eric Muller and Claire Belman, wife of Senior Counsel Roger Belman, had the best times among male and female company runners in the 5K race.
